Hey fellow Dolfin fans!

After a whirlwind summer, I am finally back home in Naples, FL and ready to kick off another great season of training.  I had some awesome swims this past summer at both IPC World Championships in Scotland and National Paralympic Day in London, and I learned so many great things that I’m excited to implement when I get back to racing.  While I was incredibly happy with my three silver medals from Worlds, my times weren’t quite what I was hoping for.  A week later, though, when I raced at National Paralympic Day in London (in the Olympic/Paralympic pool!), I finally achieved those times, including a personal best and new PanAmerican record in the 100 free!  This meet, which was held in front of a sold-out crowd, was totally relaxed and fun – and I think this atmosphere put me at ease and allowed me to swim so fast.  Next time I’m ready to race, I’ll think back to how much fun I was having on deck at this meet, and recreate that environment so I can swim even faster.
After three weeks in the UK, I headed back to Pennsylvania to visit my family for a few weeks, and really enjoyed having a bit of time off.  Now that I’m ready to start training again, I know it will be full-force until Rio, so I’m gearing up to work harder than ever.  My coach, Paul Yetter, has lots of great things in store for this next block of training and I’m excited to tackle the challenges he throws at me everyday.

Until next time!
