Best DIY Treatments for Summer Skin & Hair!

The end of the summer is just around the corner, and if you’re anything like us, your flowing locks and the sun kissed skin is in desperate need of some TLC. Check out a few of our favorite ways to revive, replenish and renew your skin and hair after the long hot summer days and nights.

The problem: DRY SKIN
Exfoliating is an essential step to renew your skin after the long days at the beach or pool. Try this homemade sugar scrub recipe we found on Pinterest from

10 drops of essential oil
1/2 cup oats
1 1/4 cup of sugar or raw sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup coconut oil

Moisturize freshly exfoliated with this easy homemade lotion recipe from

Natural Lotion Recipe
1/2 cup almond oil or jojoba oil (or any other liquid oil)
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup beeswax
*OPTIONAL ingredients
1 Tbsp vitamin E oil
2 Tbsp shea butter or coco butter
essential oils, vanilla extract or other natural extracts to suit your preference



The problem: DAMAGED HAIR


Treat your green locks with a chlorine removing hair mask from

Green Be Gone Hair Mask

1/4 cup lemon juice
2-4 Tbsp baking soda
1 Tbsp liquid Castile soap
Apply the entire mixture to wet, clean hair, massaging it in from the roots of the hair to the ends. Let the mask sit for 20 minutes then rinse thoroughly and wash and condition.**ONLY use on highlighted or untreated hair.

**FOR color treated hair use mask of 100% tomato juice (the acids remove the green) or a shampoo designed to remove chlorine minerals.

The problem: DRY HAIR

Treat your dull dry locks with this DIY hair mask from

Conditioning Hair Mask

Mash up 1/2 banana & 1/2 avocado
1 beaten egg
1 Tbsp honey
1Tbsp coconut oil
1Tbsp olive oil

Mix ingredients and apply to dry hair. Cover with a shower cap and leave on hair for 30 minutes.
Shampoo and condition as usual.
